Dr. George’s clinical and research interests include acute postoperative pain prevention & treatment with novel agents such as Pregabalin, alternate/novel modes of delivery for labor analgesia, complications and side effects associated with neuraxial anesthesia as well as airway management. Currently, Dr. George is performing a study to compare delivery methods of phenylephrine to treat spinal induced hypotension in high risk parturients during cesarean delivery. He is also collaborating with Dr. Christian Lehmann to study the sublingual microcirculation of pregnant women at risk of developing preeclampsia using the non-invasive Sidestream Dark Field (SDF) imaging technique to evaluate its potential clinical use as a predictive tool. Dr. George is also a member of the Women’s Pain Research Group, a multidisciplinary group that is currently studying the biopsycholsocial determinants of postpartum genito-pelvic pain.

Dr. George is a devoted supporter of Kybele, a non-profit organization dedicated improving childbirth safety worldwide through educational partnerships. In recent years, he has made several trips to Ghana working alongside doctors and nurses in their home hospitals to improve healthcare standards and reduce maternal and neonatal mortality.
