Setting Up an Analytic Data Set for Health Research

This seminar will introduce participants to the basic concepts of designing a data dictionary for a dataset to be used for the purpose of statistical analysis. Topics will include; the difference between a variable name in the dataset and the description of the variable in clinical or lay terms, comparison of categorical, dichotomous, continuous and date/time formats, and different data structures (repeated measures, multiple outcomes, etc.).
