Payroll April 1 and after

Friday, March 6, 2015 - 1:21pm

This message is being sent on behalf of the District Health Authority Consolidation Transition and Design Team.

With less than one month to go until our transition to the Nova Scotia Health Authority, one of the common questions being raised by health authority employees is "What will happen to my pay on April 1?"

When the Nova Scotia Health Authority is launched on April 1, district health authority employees will continue to be paid as they are now. In fact, the only change that employees will see is the name of the employer on their pay advice. Employees will receive their last pay advice from their current DHA on April 2 and their first pay advice from the Nova Scotia Health Authority on April 16.

Employees will continue to access their pay advice the same way they do now, by logging on to the Employee Self Serve SAP Portal  (https://hasp.nshealth.ca/irj/portal) using the same SAP ID and password that they use now. Individuals should also continue to direct questions related to their pay to the same individuals that they do now.

The SAP system used to administer payroll has been set up to reflect the Nova Scotia Health Authority. Testing has been underway for the past number of weeks and the system will be ready for a seamless transition on April 1.

The system has been configured to handle the remittance of union dues based on the arbitrator’s rulings. It will also support the remittance of union dues once additional decisions are made with respect to union representation.

Additional questions related to the transition can be directed to health-transition@novascotia.ca.
