Weekend auditions for Capital Health Players

Was one of your new resolutions to try something new? Maybe spend more time doing things you enjoy or meeting new people? Well, we have a way to help. The Capital Health Players are doing another spring show and we can always use a few extra (new or not so new) hands.

Two years ago, the Verdeen cousins and their wacky family and friends from Sweetgum, Texas descended on the Bus Stop Theatre for a fun and fabulous five show run of the comedy play, The Red Velvet Cake War. Well, the cousins and kin are coming back to life this May in the sequel, Rex's Exes, from May 7 -12 at the Bus Stop Theatre. Stay tuned for ticket sale information in the coming months! Right now, we are looking for several actors for the show, including three men and one woman.  Age is relative, but several of the parts require the ability to play someone who would qualify for a senior's discount at the Dollar General! To audition, please contact Lisa DeWolfe, director, at lisa.dewolfe@iwk.nshealth.ca and she can provide readings in advance or come out to open auditions.

Rehearsals for the show are tentatively scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-9 pm and every second Saturday afternoon starting February 25th. A more detailed rehearsal schedule will be available at the auditions.

If the front of the stage isn't your thing, but you've always wanted to be in theatre, we are also looking for production crew to help out with the show with things like props, costumes, marketing and generally making the magic happen. Payment in gratitude, laughs and pizza promised!

If you are interested in production crew work or have any questions, let us know. Drop either of us a line - Lisa DeWolfe, director, at lisa.dewolfe@iwk.nshealth.ca or Carrie Ricker, producer, at carrie.ricker@cdha.nshealth.ca - and we will be mighty please to get back to ya'.
