Health, Dental and Basic Life Insurance Benefit Premium Holiday! Revised dates

Thursday, January 7, 2016 - 12:18pm

We are pleased to share some good news about the NSHA Central Zone Benefit Program. There were no health, dental nor Basic Life insurance benefit cost increases in 2015.

Results improved over the past year due to Central Zone employees and Retirees  becoming wiser consumers of health and dental care services.  Asking questions of your service providers and shopping around for the best value on prescription drugs and other services can make a difference.  Generic drugs replacing brand name drugs has also resulted in lower drug claims which make up approximately 65 per cent of your total health claims.

Congratulations!  We all benefit from stable rates.  As a result of your good work, there will be a benefit premium holiday for employees as noted in the pay dates below.   If you have Health benefits, Travel premiums will be deducted.

Basic Life has also seen a stable pattern over the past year.  As a result, we are able to have a premium holiday on the Basic Life Insurance benefit as well (A D & D premiums will continue to be deducted).
