LifeLines: Moving into Final Preparations for Likely Strike - April 20, 2012

  • As Capital Health moves into the final preparations for a likely strike Wednesday, April 25, patient safety continues to be our top priority.
    • Where it can be done safely, inpatients are being discharged to their homes, long-term care, home districts and provinces.
    • Sections of our hospitals will be closing to ensure the safety of our inpatients.
  • The District Emergency Operations Group will continue meeting over the weekend.
    • Starting Tuesday, hospital care will focus on situations where life is in danger.
    • Diagnostic imaging, laboratory tests and pharmacy, among many other professional support roles, will only be available on an urgent and emergency basis beginning Wednesday, April 25.
  • Next week, LifeLines will provide specific information on:
    • how to cross a picket line
    • parking
    • security
