May 1 is Doctors' Day

Doctors Nova Scotia marked Doctors’ Day Thursday, May 1 by hosting a series of “pop-up coffee shops”  throughout Capital Health.

From 8 to 10 a.m. free coffee and tea, fruit and “I heart my doc” pins and stickers were available. The event is meant to bring together all partners in health-care delivery to celebrate the province’s physicians.

Nova Scotia’s doctors perform more than 28,000 services on patients every day. Doctors’ Day provides an opportunity for Nova Scotians to recognize the unique role physicians play in delivering high-quality health care in the province.

The day is about sharing appreciation and gratitude to all physicians whose work positively impacts the lives of all Nova Scotians. It’s a way for patients, physicians, government and health-care partners to recognize and celebrate the important and valued work of physicians in Nova Scotia and their unwavering commitment to high-quality patient care.
