Practice Guidelines

Practice Guidelines convey the perspectives and recommendations of the Nova Scotia Heath Infection Prevention and Control Department. They are based upon best practice, scientific evidence and recommendations from authorities such as the Public Health Agency of Canada.

They are provided to assist Nova Scotia Health’s health care providers to improve patient outcomes and to reduce the risk for the acquisition of a health care associated infection.

Practice Guidelines are routinely reviewed by members of the Nova Scotia Health Infection Prevention and Control Department to ensure they are reflective of current knowledge and evidence.
