Research

Colleagues:

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Nova Scotia Chronic Pain collaborative Care Network. The goal of the NSCPCCN is to improve capacity of the health care system within Nova Scotia to manage chronic pain through primary care. This will be accomplished by providing you as community physicians access to chronic pain and addiction specialists to assist in the management of your patients with chronic pain. We are here to help you.

We have now recruited pilot-phase physicians in the South Shore District Health Authority to take part in the research portion of the network. The pilot phase will run through the spring. Please see below for the patient inclusion/exclusion criteria for the study.

We are also in the process of identifying interested physicians within Capital Health District. We would also like to schedule a time to meet you and your fellow family physicians to run brief information/focus group session at your preferred location and time. Sara Whynot, project manager, and Michele Chappell, Research Coordinator, will poll and coordinate logistics for these meeting. We ask you provide the name of your administrative assistant, your direct line and private email to facilitate timely communication.

If you are interested or have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Peter MacDougall, PhD MD FRCPC
Director NSCPCCN
