Accreditation Canada requires all leaders, staff, physicians, clerks, residents, volunteers and service providers to complete Patient Safety training on an annual basis.

  • Patient safety education topic as one Grand Round session per year

CMPA Good Practices Guide

This course is offered through LMS and provides CH patient safety education credits by completing one of the patient safety courses on the CMPA website. It also meets the requirements for CME credits. Online: Patient Safety: Good Practices Guide (Canadian Medical Protective Association) refers to the reduction and mitigation of unsafe acts and practices and the use of good practices proven to lead to safer patient care.

First time/Returning Registrations for online courses

  • LMS Registration (Login and search/register/take courses)
  • Click "Sign In" button, top right of the screen
  • Enter your Username:
    • All CH staff and residents login with SAP Number
    • All Physicians login with CPSNS# or PMB#
  • Enter your Password: (first login will prompt you to change your password)
    • All CH staff and residents login with SAP Number
    • All Physicians login with CPSNS# or PMB#
  • Click "Catalogue" tab
  • Enter In the "Search" field "Patient Safety"
  • Click "Go" and view results.
  • Locate course, click "Select This Item" and follow the prompts to complete registration and complete the course
