Workplace Inspections

Regular inspections of the workplace to identify hazardous conditions or practices is both a Capital Health requirement and a crucial activity to ensure due diligence.

Departmental inspection teams are used to conduct the inspection, as departmental personnel are best aware of processes, equipment and materials in use and the hazards they may pose.

The use of standardized or site-specific Inspection Checklists facilitates the inspection process. Inspection Checklist are developed and may be modified to fit individual departments.

Completed Workplace Inspections Forms will indicate any deficiencies and provide a timeframe for corrective action and indication of accountability for the corrective action recorded. Safety & Injury Prevention offers formal workplace inspection training.
