Measuring Quality Work life at Capital Health
Capital Health has been measuring and monitoring employee quality of work life since the Healthy Workplace Department was created in 2002 and started conducting employee surveys in 2004. In 2004, we obtained a research grant to support the employee survey efforts in partnership with Saint Mary’s University.
The 2004 survey was repeated in 2006. Examples of survey recommendations include a respectful workplace strategy, conflict transformation coaching, recognition program and investment in leadership development, all of which have been implemented or are underway.
It takes courage to really look at ourselves, to learn from what we find and to move forward.
