The holiday spirit was alive and well with the staff of unit 8.3 at the Halifax Infirmary site of the QEII Health Sciences Centre. For the fourth year in a row, they joined together to adopt a family, this year through Feed Nova Scotia. Many staff members dug into their own pockets to purchase gifts for a single mother and her three boys but they went even further and held a bake sale and a 50/50 draw. Staff used the money earned through these two activities to buy gift cards for Walmart and the Superstore to allow the family to have the pleasure of going shopping to choose things for themselves. A few of the elves took a few minutes from their busy shift to pose by the unit tree, pictured left to right are Brittany, Alexa, Nicole, Pat, Jasmine, Kelly, Rhoda, Laura.

Holiday Generosity for Camp Hill Veterans
Recreation Therapy Staff members Emily A’Court and Amy Slaunwhite were busy in December with gifts that were donated by the Canadian Forces to the Camp Hill Veterans. The gifts had to be sorted for all seven units with staff choosing specific Christmas items for some of the Veterans. Many other gifts were available for Veterans to select themselves or to give to a special person in their life.
